About The Position

This is a PSE&G position and as such may be required to perform functions different from normal operations and work schedule during storm/outage restorations efforts. Reporting to an alternate work location may also be required. At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in a Fleet Maintenance setting; or a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in a Fleet Maintenance setting.
  • Extensive experience in the repair/maintenance of automotive, heavy duty vehicles and construction equipment.
  • Extensive experience in transportation administrative procedures.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Obtained an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor’s test within the last two years or must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor’s test.
  • Possess and maintain a U.S. valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Computer knowledge of the SAP Work Management system.
  • This is a safety sensitive position, D.O.T. testing is required.
  • Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
  • Must prove they are: (1) a citizen or national of the USA; OR (2) a lawful permanent resident of the United States (Non-Conditional Permanent I-551 / Green Card / Permanent Resident Card holder); OR (3) a citizen, national, or permanent resident of a “Generally Authorized” destination on the attached list not also a citizen, national, permanent resident of any country not listed; OR (4) a “Protected Individual” under the Immigration and Naturalization Act (8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)).
  • Employees who are hired or transfer into a federally regulated role (including positions covered by USDOT, PHMSA, or NRC regulations) are subject to random drug and alcohol testing, inclusive of marijuana.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading bargaining unit associates in the automotive repair and maintenance area.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the maintenance and repair of automotive and construction equipment across various Transportation locations throughout the State.
  • Preparing and analyzing reports.
  • Diagnosing operating problems.
  • Planning employee work assignments.
  • Coordinating the ordering of material, parts, tools, and shop equipment.
  • Maintaining contact with internal customers on automotive problems.
  • Performing other supervisory duties as assigned.
  • Performing functions different from normal operations and work schedule during storm/outage restorations efforts.
  • Reporting to an alternate work location may also be required.
