Join us and be part of our success! Summary: Assists with all transportation-related operations. Responsible for completing daily driver and dispatch schedules, maintaining DOT compliance paperwork and filing systems, conducting regular safety meetings, and managing driver timesheets and payroll. Coordinates fleet equipment repairs and maintenance with the shop. Serves as a strong backup for outside dispatch operations and related activities. Works directly with contract carriers and brokers to support transportation needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for properly training all personnel in transportation operations while ensuring the highest level of safety. Responsible for maintaining direct contact with all shipping facilities. Provides coverage for outside dispatch as needed, including FTL/OTR and LTL freight operations. Works closely with scheduling, sales, and customers by providing ETAs and freight quotes. Responsible for overseeing the maintenance, condition, and cleanliness of all transportation department equipment. Must have the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Must carry and maintain a company-provided cell phone and be available for on-call questions and operational matters during nights and weekends. Responsible for completing and submitting payroll, with management approval, in a timely manner. Responsible for completing and maintaining all reports essential to departmental functions, including DOT documentation, incident reports, and weekly, monthly, and daily reports. Responsible for ensuring all personnel follow applicable biosecurity guidelines and procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned. This is a safety sensitive position. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 25-30 employees in the Transportation Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
