Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
3+ years of experience in transportation/logistics
Valid CDL class A driver's license
Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safety compliance
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Proficiency with dispatch/routing software and basic computer skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends
Able to travel occasionally

Responsibilities

Oversees daily transportation operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and supervising drivers to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery or transit services.
Supervise and schedule drivers/transportation staff, including shift assignments and coverage
Train drivers on food safety handling, allergen control, and proper loading/unloading procedures for bulk commodities
Maintain records: driver ELD logs, DOT files, rail car tracking, weight tickets, and sanitation/washout logs
Monitor routes, delivery/transit schedules, and vehicle utilization for efficiency
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies
Coordinate vehicle maintenance and inspections with fleet/maintenance manager
Liaise with mill production, quality assurance, and sales teams to align transportation with production schedules and customer commitments
Train new drivers and enforce safety protocols
Maintain accurate records (logs, licenses, certifications, inspection reports)
Communicate with drivers, customers, or other departments to resolve issues
Prepare reports on performance metrics (on-time rates, safety incidents, costs)
