Transportation Specialist

About The Position

As a Transportation Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating inbound waste transportation activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of materials into Company facilities. This role works closely with customers, carriers, operations, and internal stakeholders to schedule truckload (TL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, optimize transportation efficiency, resolve logistics issues, and support overall service excellence.

Requirements

High-school diploma or equivalent (required)
2+ years of experience in an office environment (required)

Nice To Haves

Experience with trucking/scheduling experience with knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) hazardous waste regulations (preferred)

Responsibilities

Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
Coordinates and manage inbound transportation schedules for truckload and less-than-truckload waste shipments
Optimizes routing and load planning to maximize efficiency and profitability
Negotiates transportation rates with carriers to support cost-effective operations
Serves as a liaison between customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely and effective transportation services
Troubleshoots and resolve scheduling, transportation, and service-related issues
Maintains transportation records and scheduling data with a high level of accuracy
Supports compliance with applicable transportation and hazardous waste regulations
Collaborates effectively with team members and stakeholders to resolve conflicts and achieve business objectives
Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
