Transportation Specialist (Driver) - Full Time
About The Position
Glacier Hills Senior Living Community is seeking a full-time Transportation Specialist (Driver) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The role supports older adults’ independence and community engagement by providing safe transportation to appointments, errands, events, and outings. The driver assists residents with boarding and exiting vehicles, coordinates transportation logistics, maintains records, communicates with residents and relevant staff and providers, and helps ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained. The position emphasizes resident safety, comfort, dignity, and compassionate service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Chauffeur License.
- Safe driving record.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.

- Experience working with older adults or in a senior living environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, shopping trips, community events, and recreational outings.
- Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including support with walkers and wheelchairs as needed.
- Coordinate daily transportation schedules and appointment logistics.
- Maintain transportation logs, mileage records, and resident destination information.
- Communicate with residents, staff, medical offices, and outside transportation providers.
- Ensure company vehicles are clean, fueled, and properly maintained.
- Support resident safety, comfort, and well-being during transportation services.
