About The Position

The Transportation Specialist provides safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for Members throughout The Cedars campus and the greater Chapel Hill/Durham area. The role includes transporting Members to scheduled appointments and accommodating same-day requests when operationally feasible, ensuring they arrive safely and on time while maintaining a warm and professional demeanor. The position also conducts routine vehicle inspections, keeps vehicles clean and presentable, and assists with coordinating basic maintenance needs. Success requires strong customer service, time management, organization, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment, along with a commitment to safety, professionalism, and hospitality. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Requirements

High school education required.
Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, read maps efficiently, and perform simple arithmetic.
Current and valid Commercial Driver's License in the state.
Personal driving record consistent with The Cedars Driver Selection Policy.
Ability to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents at all times.

Responsibilities

Provide scheduled transportation for Members and, when operationally feasible, accommodate same-day transportation requests.
Ensure Members arrive at their destinations safely and on time while maintaining a warm, courteous, and professional demeanor.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and appearance.
Assist with coordinating basic vehicle maintenance needs.
Respond flexibly to changing transportation needs while maintaining safety and service standards.
