About The Position

The Behavioral Health Transportation Specialist is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and customer-focused non-medical transportation and para-transit services to and from medical facilities, under the direction of Valley Health Medical Transport’s dispatch center and the team leader.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must maintain a driving record that is acceptable with the company’s insurance carrier.
• Valid driver’s license.
• DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Certification.
• Periodic drug screening, as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies.
• Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) within 60 days of hire.
• Trauma Informed Care Training within 60 days of hire.
• Suicide and Crisis Intervention Training within 60 days of hire.
• Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) within 60 days of hire (provided during orientation).
• AHA BLS CPR and First Aid within 60 days of hire.
• 24 hours Unarmed Special Conservator of the Peace (SCOP) training provided by Virginia DCJS within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior law enforcement or military experience preferred.
• Experience in the use of handicap aids and wheelchair lift equipment.
• Experience in the care and handling of the aged and/or handicapped client is preferred.
