About The Position

To provide the highest quality, safe transportation for the Sisters and residents of The Center at Donaldson as well as perform other errands and duties as requested. This role involves carefully transporting Sisters and Residents to appointments, the hospital, shopping, or social outings, running errands, picking up supplies, and providing courier services for ministries and departments. The position also requires assisting with vehicle maintenance, such as refueling and cleaning, and contributing to the recycling program. A positive, courteous, and hospitable attitude is essential, along with flexibility to handle unscheduled requests and adaptable to various needs.

Requirements

Valid Driver’s License
Defensive Driving Continuing Education
Capable of large city, heavy traffic driving
Pleasant personality and calm demeanor
Appropriate driving experience
One to three months familiarity with area
Completion of new Co-Worker orientation
Frequent sitting
Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and pushing/pulling
Occasional pushing/pulling of over 300 lbs.
Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Good visual acuity

Responsibilities

Carefully transport Sisters and Residents by wheelchair to appointments, the hospital, shopping or social outings.
Run errands and pick up supplies as requested and assigned.
Lift boxes, furniture, and personal items such as luggage, shopping bags and packages for Sisters, and Maria Center residents.
Provide courier services for ministries and departments as requested.
Provide quality service in a courteous, friendly and hospitable manner.
Assist the Transportation Services Technician by filling the vehicles with gasoline as requested and assigned.
Maintain a positive and thoughtful attitude and demeanor when transporting Sisters and residents.
Be flexible as unscheduled requests arise and adaptable to whatever the need may be when possible.
Assist with The Center at Donaldson recycling program by collecting and delivering any re-useable materials to the recycling area.
Assist the Transportation Services Technician by keeping all vehicles clean and presentable and by reporting any identified problems and/or malfunctions of vehicles.
Assure that the established quality expectations are achieved.
Coordinate with the Transportation Services scheduler to provide efficient transportation services in a punctual and safe manner.
Help to keep all vehicles snow and ice-free in the winter months.
