About The Position

All Hinds Community College employees must commit to the Caring Campus approach to student engagement and daily apply these general behavioral objectives: listen to student questions and concerns with a positive attitude and make meaningful connections with students. This role is responsible for vehicle scheduling and dispatch, driver coordination, handling departmental trip requests, and coordinating repairs and maintenance of the college's fleet. The position requires availability for overnight travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Class B CDL with passenger endorsement
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Relevant experience in transportation, logistics, and/or fleet operations
  • At least 3 years of driving experience, in-state and out of state

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
  • Vehicle scheduling and dispatch
  • Driver Coordination
  • Handling departmental trip requests
  • Experience with Fuelman and fleet management/driver management software
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance of college’s fleet with on-site mechanic
  • Maintain repairs and maintenance records of college’s fleet
  • Must be available for overnight travel, including single-night and multi-night trips, as required for assigned routes and events
