About The Position

Responsible to release approved parts for shipment to Outside Service Vendors. Must accurately complete paperwork and follow special instructions indicated on the Traveler. This role requires adherence to all safety processes and procedures, effective communication with drivers, accurate verification and counting of parts, proper packing and securing of parts, and correspondence with Purchasing for necessary authorizations. The coordinator will maintain a Shipping Log, load and unload trucks, and inspect incoming freight for damage. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and experience with ERP systems and shipping software are expected.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Background using ERP systems and shipping software.
  • Must be capable of driving a forklift truck.
  • Ability to operate forklift.
  • Basic knowledge of the computer is preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Associates of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all safety processes and procedures in accordance with job requirements and company policy.
  • Communicates with McAlpin drivers on daily routes while maintaining record of shipping information.
  • Verifies and accurately counts parts staged in the area for shipment.
  • Properly packs or secures parts as indicated on Traveler.
  • Corresponds with Purchasing for Purchase Order and authorization to ship.
  • Maintains up-to-date Shipping Log for tracking parts.
  • Loads and unloads trucks.
  • Inspects incoming freight for damage.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
