About The Position

As a Transportation Safety and Compliance Advisor, you will be responsible for training and ensuring compliance with regulations, laws and company policies for transport managers and in-house drivers in the Greater Montreal area, the Ottawa region and Abitibi. Please note that the position starts early in the morning, typically between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m.

Requirements

  • Class 1 FM license
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods transportation
  • Experience as a driver, inspector, trainer or in a related role
  • Strong understanding of SAAQ regulations and the Highway Safety Code
  • Good knowledge of compliance standards related to vehicle dimensions and weight
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as the DCE system

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a trainer and advisor in road safety and regulatory compliance
  • Advising drivers on best practices in terms of road safety and compliance
  • Managing follow-ups with transport managers regarding logbooks and safety rounds to ensure compliance with road regulations
  • Collaborating with transport and fleet maintenance managers to monitor the PEP and transport equipment compliance
  • Visiting our various sites to inspect the quality and conformity of the work performed by our drivers
  • Performing road assessments, audits and training for new drivers as well as existing employees
  • Analyzing, documenting and following up on road accidents, infractions, complaints and near-misses related to transportation, and provide recommendations as needed
