About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to be based in Minneapolis, MN. This role serves as the lead for mid to large-size highway/roadway projects, involving business development, prospecting, and proposal development with established relationships with local clients such as MnDOT, local Counties, and local agencies. The position also focuses on alternative delivery projects, including prospecting, proposals, and procurements. The Project Manager will provide specialized technical input and expertise for studies and design efforts, present complex technical solutions to clients, and perform quality control reviews of work developed by others. Responsibilities include developing technical proposals, providing estimates for engineering budgets and schedules, and establishing study and design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work. The role also involves participating in interdisciplinary reviews and utilizing expertise in all steps of completing discipline components of PA/ED and PS&E packages, as well as performing quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings, and preparing technical specification sections.

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license in Minnesota or ability to obtain within six months
  • Project Management experience in transportation projects
  • Computer proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCad software packages, including OpenRoads Designer and Civil3D
  • Ability to proactively communicate and lead department staff
  • Established relationships with local clients: 10 + years of experience and familiarity with MnDOT and MN Counties including local agency specifications, policies and procedures
  • Alternative delivery project experience
  • Strong / proven business development capabilities with municipal, regional and state decisionmakers and contacts

Responsibilities

  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline components of PA/ED and PS&E packages.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
