What We're Looking For: Michael Baker International is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to join our Florida Transportation Team, with the position based in Tallahassee, Florida. What You'll Do: Demonstrate expertise and strong relationships with FDOT and local government public works infrastructure projects. Provide engineering design and oversight in the successful delivery of transportation projects throughout Florida, leading and mentoring project teams in all aspects of design and plan preparation for roadway, highway, and freeway projects for FDOT, municipalities, counties, and tolling agencies. Lead plan production for conventional design‑bid‑build and potentially design‑build highway projects. Review the work of other professionals, including QA/QC, mentoring, training, and staff development. Maintain a broad understanding of highway transportation facility design, including roadway elements, hydrology and hydraulics, structures, and traffic components. Develop pursuit capture plans to win new work and strengthen client relationships. Support proposal development, letters of interest, interviews, and client presentations. Manage project financials, schedules, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of transportation project experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Florida PE or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proven seller‑doer track record
  • Strong technical background in transportation engineering
  • Critical thinking and conceptual planning skills
  • Ability to lead client‑facing, interdisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff
  • Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to manage at a high level

Nice To Haves

  • FDOT roadway final design experience preferred
