Transportation Project Engineer
About The Position
Apex Companies is a rapidly growing engineering and environmental consulting firm seeking a motivated Transportation Engineer for a remote position supporting their Northeast Division. This role can be based in any US city and involves supporting multi-disciplinary projects for public and private clients. The engineer will work on transportation infrastructure design projects, prepare construction bid documents, participate in client meetings, and assist in monitoring labor budgets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 2-5 years of related transportation engineering experience as a consulting engineer, providing design of local agency or state transportation projects.
- A solid understanding of civil/transportation design and construction standards
- A proven history of multi-tasking and meeting project timelines and budgets.
- Ability to develop creative engineering solutions within project constraints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Nice To Haves
- EIT or Professional Engineering License preferred
- Complete Streets treatments experience a plus
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
Responsibilities
- Work on the design of small to large transportation infrastructure design projects in an efficient manner.
- Coordinate the preparation of construction bid documents consisting of plans, specifications and estimates.
- Participate in meetings with clients and the public.
- Assist Senior Project Engineers and Project Managers in monitoring labor budgets.
- Participate in professional organizations.
