BGE is seeking a Project Engineer (PE) for the Transportation Systems department in our South Austin Office. BGE, Inc. is a nationwide civil engineering consulting firm that provides services in land/site development, public works, transportation, planning, landscape architecture, construction management, survey, and environmental services for public and private clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Registered PE in Texas
  • TxDOT Experience
  • Knowledge of PS&E Processes
  • 4-8 years of professional experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads 3D Modeling software

Responsibilities

  • Supervises engineering interns, EITs, designers, technicians and others.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates engineering work involving conventional practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
  • Performs engineering associated with highway planning and design including horizontal and vertical geometry, OpenRoads 3D modeling, retaining wall layouts, quantity calculations, miscellaneous details, and final plan deliverables.
  • Interprets and applies applicable codes and exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Other duties as assigned.
