BGE is seeking a Project Engineer (PE) for the Transportation Systems department in our South Austin Office. BGE, Inc. is a nationwide civil engineering consulting firm that provides services in land/site development, public works, transportation, planning, landscape architecture, construction management, survey, and environmental services for public and private clients.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Registered PE in Texas
TxDOT Experience
Knowledge of PS&E Processes
4-8 years of professional experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills
Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads 3D Modeling software

Responsibilities

Supervises engineering interns, EITs, designers, technicians and others.
Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates engineering work involving conventional practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
Performs engineering associated with highway planning and design including horizontal and vertical geometry, OpenRoads 3D modeling, retaining wall layouts, quantity calculations, miscellaneous details, and final plan deliverables.
Interprets and applies applicable codes and exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
Other duties as assigned.
