The purpose of this class is to serve as the Program Manager for the development and implementation of multimodal transportation projects within the Transportation Department. This class is responsible for managing the County’s multimodal (roadway, bikeway, greenway, and sidewalk) transportation program, including project planning, prioritization, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, and program reporting to support the effective use of transportation funding. This class provides expertise in transportation planning, multimodal project development, utility coordination, and coordination with internal departments, consultants, government agencies, community organizations, and the public. This class serves as a liaison with entities such as the Richland County Public Works Department, the City of Columbia, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), bicycle and pedestrian organizations, and other stakeholders regarding transportation initiatives. This class develops, coordinates, and monitors program activities within established policies and performs related professional, administrative, and supervisory work as required in support of the County’s transportation program.
