The Loudoun County Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI) is seeking a self-motivated Transportation Program Manager with the special projects team. Requirements

  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to comprehend technical and traffic analysis reports and engineering drawings.
  • Prior experience presenting findings to the public and elected officials.
  • Ability to interpret traffic analysis reports.
  • Ability to provide prompt and effective customer service to various stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and have prior public speaking experience.
  • Ability to reason and solve problems in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Master’s degree in a related field; four (4) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful background check completion, to include criminal, credit, and driving record checks.

  • Data Visualization Experience (graphical representation of data to produce dashboards, graphics, and charts)

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple studies and projects, which may include corridor and speed management studies and development of local road safety plans.
  • Making recommendations to resolve complex roadway safety and operational issues based on engineering principles in compliance with federal, state, and county policies and regulations.
  • Working with federal, state and local transportation agencies and other Loudoun County departments.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and county regulations.
  • Effectively conveying complex technical ideas verbally and in writing.
  • Managing contracts in accordance with county policies.
  • Conducting public meetings.
