About The Position

As the TPD Area Principal, you will be a leader in program and project delivery, providing technical solutions to infrastructure challenges. You will plan and direct the project lifecycle from proposal phase through project execution and delivery, ensuring quality standards are met or exceeded. This role involves developing strategy and leadership to acquire new clients and services while strengthening existing relationships across the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in TN or ability to obtain PE within 6 months.
  • 15 years of experience in transportation engineering and project management.
  • Proven record of successfully leading and managing complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with experience in client-facing roles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Alternative Delivery experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of transportation programs and projects, overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee the preparation of scope, schedule, and budgets for projects.
  • Develop and present complex technical solutions to clients, demonstrating innovative problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
  • Interface with clients and be a principal in BD efforts and lead pursuits to win projects, coordinating closely with other local leaders.
  • Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements and are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements and corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate with management to determine long-range plans and objectives, including recommendations on project staffing, evaluating and mentoring of subordinate staff.
  • Manage programs or projects and maintain schedule, budget, and profitability of assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with internal and external clients and fortify long-term client/contractor relationships.
  • Contribute with other leaders to advance alternative delivery capabilities in TN.
