About The Position

The goal of this person is to support logistics management regionally (locally) to increase the movement of materials from the Brantford plant and Oakville warehouse and establish transparency throughout the organization. The Transportation Planner will manage, book and correspond with external carriers, our internal fleet truck drivers, management and internal groups such as shipping and sales coordination. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded professional with a practical and theoretical understanding of Shipping principles. This role has a range of functions, such as managing the active local BOLs for the Konstant Brantford and Oakville sites through the TMS Shipper’s workbench. This person addresses any problem-solving issues that may arise and works closely with our sales reps, sales coordinators, our logistics department and other service providers to facilitate the movement of inbound and outbound shipments. The TP will also manage the daily scheduling and dispatch of our local Commercial Fleet in Ontario, maximizing efficiency in dispatch of our Konstant loads. As such, the right candidate for the role must be familiar with the aspects of domestic modes of transportation as well as the accompanying documentation like bills of lading, TDG and CUSMA. Furthermore, the TP must possess the ability to comprehend dimensions, weight requirements and shipping strategies when coordinating and communicating the ideal method of shipment and carrier selection. The right candidate is an excellent communicator, possess strong time-management and organizational skills.

Requirements

• Proficiency in JDE
• Experience with the JDE BOL Application and broad knowledge of Transportation industry
• Ability to identify problems, collect data and establish facts
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with branch departments.
• MS Office- Intermediate Level, Advance in Excel
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems and Transportation Principles
• Monitoring and assessing performance
• Critical thinking, judgement and decision making
• Strong business acumen and mathematics

Responsibilities

• Schedule all shipments for Konstant Oakville and Branford and manage Rolltite Fleet dispatch daily.
• Provide effective and efficient routing for fleet truck, ensuring maximum optimization of the fleet truck, before outsourcing to external carriers.
• Problem solving as issues arise, working with our Operations Teams, Sales, and/or Administrations to resolve
• Work closely with carrier pool and other service providers to facilitate the movement of outbound shipments (Domestic)
• Troubleshoot processing problems with freight PO’s for Fap auditor (Nulogx)
• Develop plans and follow through on all strategic customer projects from a freight perspective, including providing management updates, load and volume tracking and proactively organizing shipments to ensure on-time delivery schedule is met (all SSG & Konstant projects)
• Effectively communicate any carrier issues that might impact operations.
• The TP will also assume the management of the Central region fleet and will coordinate all local deliveries for GNJ Central Region.
