About The Position

We are seeking a Transportation Planner-Import/Export to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you will support international sales and freight teams to improve speed to market, reduce transportation costs, and continuously improve processes with our international transportation providers. You will manage performance of providers against KPI’s by identifying process deviations leading to delays in inventory receipt in North American and International DC’s and warehouses. By leveraging data from business intelligence tools and carrier portals, you will ensure transparency and accuracy of milestones presented by and to freight forwarder partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with an Importer or Freight forwarder in a similar role.
  • Ability to translate data into clear action items and insights.
  • Highly organized and structured.
  • Process-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience with SAP or similar reporting/ERP tools.
  • Market knowledge focusing on Ocean freight.
  • Excellent Excel skills, including pivot tables.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment prone to change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in export, data entry, inventory management, and supply chain planning.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and production planning.
  • Knowledge of LTL shipping, BOL, replenishment, inventory planning, schedule planning, and forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Use SAP TM to request, monitor, and schedule shipments.
  • Track shipments.
  • Dissect forecasting on a lane level into all markets, and communicate with providers.
  • Ensure execution of freight forwarders against committed performance KPI’s.
  • Manage container optimization and shipment size thresholds.
  • Request, review, and approve spot rate quotes.
  • Calculate freight costs.
  • Action and record shipment level deviations, analyze root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and executed consistently.
  • Monitor market developments and understand their impacts on the supply chain.
