About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring Publix’s activity-based compensation system is applied properly, managing the time and payroll administration accurately and timely for all Publix Transportation Operations associates. This includes Truck Drivers, associates in CDL training, hourly support associates, and managers. The role involves being an expert on the Transportation Driver Performance System (TDPS) and serving as the contact for associate questions regarding their pay and HR related issues. The position delivers premier customer service by providing administrative support and ensuring timekeeping systems accurately record all “time worked.” This involves interacting with departmental associates and various other Publix departments such as Payroll, Information Systems, Industrial Operations Information Technology, Strategy Support, Worker’s Compensation, Personnel Records, and Human Resources. The role also includes editing and verifying Driver Trip Sheets in TDPS, sometimes with complex or questionable delivery scenarios, based on engineered standards to ensure information is recorded properly and truck drivers are compensated correctly. Requirements

  • Be at least 20 years old
  • Have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position)
  • One year of experience using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access)
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be available on weekends or holidays
  • Ability to work extended periods of time
  • Knowledge of software, systems, and applications used in the Transportation Operations department
  • Knowledge of truck driver pay system (activity-based compensation with engineered labor standards)
  • Knowledge of Federal DOT regulations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications
  • Knowledge of complex activity based engineered standards
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and worker’s compensation concepts
  • Knowledge of general office practices (typing, filing, phone etiquette, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to be detailed-oriented
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Have analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have communication skills
  • Have interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Have computer skills and be proficient using computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Be able to successfully complete battery of Clerical & Microsoft Skills Tests (before his or her start date in the position)
  • Current Sarasota/Lakeland Non-Refrigerated Distribution associate
  • Have an Associate’s Degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Have two years of Publix administrative experience

Responsibilities

  • Interacting with departmental associates and various other Publix departments such as Payroll, Information Systems, Industrial Operations Information Technology, Strategy Support, Worker’s Compensation, Personnel Records, and Human Resources
