This position performs maintenance, inspection, repairs, and diagnostics on a vehicle fleet, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, gas and diesel engines, and mobile hydraulic systems used on aerial devices, digger derricks, medium/heavy duty trucks, light duty vehicles, forklifts, and off-road equipment. The role supports all Entergy equipment and vehicles. Primary responsibilities include the inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, gas and diesel engines, and mobile hydraulic systems used on aerial devices. The position will support medium and heavy-duty bucket trucks, digger derricks, occasional off-road equipment like dozers, skidders, and marsh buggies, and some light-duty vehicle work. The role requires communication and cooperation with peers, supervision, and internal customers to maintain a safe and productive environment. The employee will operate a field service vehicle and travel to various job sites. Responsibilities include preparing records of all maintenance activities, willingness to work extended hours, potential for alternate reporting locations and storm travel outside Entergy's territory, and working in a shop environment, maintaining an orderly and environmentally safe workspace. The role also involves directing the work of assistants, instructing and training other employees, and performing non-critical welding. Compliance with all DOT, DOE, and OSHA regulations is mandatory.
