About The Position

ProLog, Inc. is building a team for an anticipated Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution opportunity. The contract will support warehouse and distribution operations in a sustained, audit-ready environment, including receiving, storage, inventory, issue processing, packaging, transportation, equipment support, and related mission functions. This position is contingent upon contract award, final funding, Government acceptance of the candidate, and completion of all required security and access actions. The Transportation Manager will oversee freight-terminal operations and the planning, documentation, scheduling, and movement of outbound shipments by air, surface, small parcel, and sea while ensuring compliance with Government and commercial transportation requirements.

Requirements

  • At least three years of transportation experience using DLA WMS or an equivalent automated warehouse management system within the past five years.
  • A Secret security clearance is required. Candidate must be able to document current clearance status and maintain required eligibility throughout employment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Government and commercial traffic-management functions and processes.
  • Experience planning and documenting air, surface, small-parcel, and/or sea shipments, including bills of lading, manifests, and related transportation records.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and ability to plan workload, staffing, equipment, priorities, and schedules in a transportation or distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be eligible for access to a DoD installation and successfully complete all required suitability, personnel-security, and access processes.
  • Must obtain and maintain a DoD CAC, installation identification badge, PKI token, controlled/restricted-area access, and Government-system access, as applicable.
  • Must complete required nondisclosure, security briefing, debriefing, and clearance documentation before handling classified information or material.
  • Because the position uses DLA WMS and other Government systems, must be eligible for minimum IT II access, including a favorably adjudicated T3 investigation, unless the Government approves an exception.
  • Must safeguard classified information, CUI, proprietary information, Government systems, facilities, property, and mission data and comply with CMMC and all DoD, DLA, and installation requirements.
  • Must complete initial and recurring CUI, AT/FP, OPSEC, Counterintelligence, INFOSEC, and CTIP training.

Nice To Haves

  • A current Secret security clearance eligibility is a plus.
  • Experience with DLA WMS and/or DSS, DFTS, SDDC GFMS, Defense Transportation Regulation requirements, FMS/SAP shipments, HAZMAT transportation, GOCARE, or DoD freight operations.
  • Experience leading transportation operations in an auditable, performance-metric-driven Government environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage freight-terminal and transportation operations supporting all issue transactions and outbound movements.
  • Direct personnel planning shipping loads, selecting transportation methods, scheduling carriers, and coordinating air, surface, small-parcel, and ocean shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Government and commercial traffic-management requirements, transportation contracts, DFTS when applicable, Defense Transportation Regulation requirements, and SDDC Global Freight Management System processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation, validation, and retention of bills of lading, manifests, load documentation, shipment records, and required data-system entries.
  • Plan personnel, equipment, facility, and material requirements based on projected and actual workload.
  • Establish priorities, deadlines, and work sequences and redirect resources to address urgent shipments, unanticipated work, delays, and workload fluctuations.
  • Develop workload estimates, staffing recommendations, shipping schedules, status reports, and performance analyses.
  • Use DLA WMS and other Government systems to execute and monitor transportation requirements and meet contract Acceptable Performance Levels.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, inventory, packaging, HAZMAT, customer-service, and Government transportation personnel to resolve shipment issues and protect mission schedules.
