Techniplas has long-term relationships with many of the world’s leading automotive and industrial OEMs. SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Logistics Operations Manager supervises multiple distribution and warehouse operations and is responsible for managing all activities related to the efficient functioning for our Tier 1 Automotive Customers. This includes KPI management, ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance, employee relations, and safety within the Operations. SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Transportation Manager oversees all inbound and outbound logistics for Techniplas US South, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods. This role manages carrier performance, supports production flow, ensures regulatory adherence, and drives continuous improvement, Manage outbound shipments to customers and inbound deliveries from suppliers, including high-volume Mexico-to-USA lanes. Schedule, coordinate, and track freight across all modes (LTL, FTL, dedicated, expedites). Oversee all Mexico-to-USA cross-border processes, including coordinating with customs brokers, ensuring proper documentation, managing drayage, and monitoring border wait times and detention risk. Resolve freight claims, damages, transit delays, and customs-related issues. Review freight spend and implement cost-saving opportunities, including optimizing cross-border routing. Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with U.S. and Mexico-based carriers and logistics providersn Improve trailer utilization, reduce dwell and detention, and streamline transportation flow. Ensure on-time delivery performance for OEM and Tier 1 customers. Communicate proactively with internal teams and customers regarding shipment status, delays, or customs holds. Support Purchasing and Supplier Development to prevent disruptions related to transportation or border processes. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, CBP rules, Mexican customs laws, and company standards. Oversee preparation and accuracy of all shipping and cross-border documents, including BOLS, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, USMCA documentation, and pedimentos. Maintain accurate EDI transmissions, ASNs, and customer-specific logistics documentation. Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory reviews related to transportation and customs. Lead and develop the shipping and receiving team, providing guidance, support, and performance direction. Collaborate closely with production, planning, inventory control, customer service, and purchasing. Serve as the primary escalation point for carrier, logistics, or customs-related issues. Utilize ERP, TMS, and EDI systems to manage shipments and inventory movements. Develop, monitor, and report transportation KPIs such as on-time delivery, transit performance, carrier scorecards, and freight cost per unit. Identify and implement process improvements in logistics, transportation flow, and cross-border operation This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3-5+ years of transportation or logistics management experience
  • Experience managing Mexico-to-USA cross-border transportation, including customs processes and broker coordination.
  • Knowledge of USMCA requirements, CBP regulations, and import/export documentation
  • Strong carrier negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Experience with ERP and EDI systems.
