About The Position

San Diego’s St. Paul's PACE program (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly). This innovative program is for individuals 55 years or older, who are living with chronic illness, or disabilities and need coordinated medical care to continue living as independently as possible in their home and community. The healthcare teams at St. Paul’s PACE provide a hands-on approach coordinating medical, social, and home care services so individuals no longer need to manage their medical care alone. Job Summary: Supervision and daily oversight of designated St. Paul's Transportation departments. Has a strong support responsibility to all facility administrators and management staff. Supports PACE with identifying inefficiencies and creating better systems for productivity, projects, and works with general contractors under the direction of the DOT to ensure St. Paul's best interests are supported during improvement or expansion projects.

Requirements

  • High School degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience coordinating and managing transportation fleet of over 50+ vehicles.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Strong computer skills in programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
  • Able to assist and develop staff in the technical and computer skills essential to the area of responsibility and the business need of St. Paul's.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO CLEAR FINGERPRINTS THROUGH DOJ AND FBI IN ADDITION TO A DRUG SCREEN CLEARANCE.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience to include healthcare industry, transportation software, and strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations and rules.

Responsibilities

  • Have direct supervision responsibilities over transportation department.
  • Ability to apply technical and organizational knowledge and skills to maintain smooth and efficient operations for all transportation needs.
  • Responsible for the overall management and control of all services assigned to them. Ensures adequate control of associated budgets and spending practices. general and employee safety, quality control and improvement, employee engagement and growth. and adequate communication with those we serve.
  • Proficient with fleet management and transportation. Enforce any new safety or security practices with emphasis on Title 22 health care code. Must be current with all applicable Federal, State and local codes governing anything related to transportation. Works closely with administrators in understanding. interpreting and applying all applicable regulations dealing with facility transportation management and safety.
  • Organizational skills as the meeting of deadlines and goals is imperative.
  • Interacts with and participates in any compliance, consultative. or engineering personnel during their inspections of any job site and documents results. Assist in the resolution of any citation or criticism issued or required.
  • Ensures assigned areas follow established priority response policies and communicating well with those we serve.
  • Conducts routine inspections of assigned tasks to monitor quality.
  • Provides oversight of spending practices related to the areas assigned to them to ensure adequate inventory control and best cost control. Works at reducing overall material costs
  • Complete interviewing, coaching, counseling, and development planning for department staff.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Transportation
