About The Position

As the Transportation Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the oversight and planning of direct or indirect maintenance activities for the rolling fleet for Arcwood Transport. You will develop and manage a safe and productive workplace for respective Arcwood Transport or sub-contracted garage(s). This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with vendors, ordering supplies, and maintaining parts inventory. You will review and approve all expenses related to inventories to ensure necessary equipment and part levels are maintained within budget, referring expenses to the Manager as appropriate. Additionally, you will review and/or write manuals for maintenance activities and develop files in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT). You will plan, schedule, and establish priorities/deadlines to ensure the completion of maintenance activities in a safe environment while meeting all dispatch obligations. You will also ensure all work orders are accurate, appropriate parts are billed, and are closed out for end-of-month reporting. This role includes interviewing, hiring, training, providing direction, and conducting performance evaluations for maintenance team members, and establishing required shop hours accordingly. Additional duties may be assigned to support the team and organization.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Completion of formal MIG/TIG welding training (required)
Completion of formal training in airbrake assembly/repair, air conditioning and SCR engines (required)
3+ years of experience in maintenance within the transportation industry (required)

Nice To Haves

CDL license (preferred)
Previous supervisory experience (preferred)
