About The Position

The Transportation Leader provides safe, reliable transportation for residents to medical appointments and community activities while also serving as the primary point of responsibility for vehicle upkeep and day-to-day fleet readiness. This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities but serves as a lead resource for drivers.

  • Ability to work and make good decisions independently
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for events
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect resident rights
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license required with ability to obtain and maintain JO5 or JO6 certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience driving passengers, working with older adults, or performing basic vehicle coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transport residents safely to medical appointments, community outings, and scheduled activities.
  • Coordinate daily transportation needs with the Admissions Liaison to ensure appointment schedules are met accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with loading/unloading mobility equipment and resident support.
  • Coordinate routine vehicle upkeep, including oil changes, inspections, cleaning, and scheduling service appointments.
  • Transport vehicles to and from maintenance or repair appointments as needed.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure vehicles remain clean, fueled, and ready for daily use.
  • Complete required transportation logs, safety checks, and documentation accurately.
  • Communicate issues to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Support new drivers by sharing knowledge of routes, procedures, and vehicle operation as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
