About The Position

Our experienced Lawrenceville Transportation Team is seeking a civil engineering student to join our team to train and mentor as a Drainage Intern. This internship offers exposure to various aspects of drainage engineering, including post-construction and construction stormwater management, stormwater drainage systems design, stormwater permitting, and hydraulic and hydrology (H&H) modeling for bridges and culverts. Interns will prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and calculations related to drainage, E&S Control, LID/GI, and Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs). The role provides real-world experience and training in industry-standard software such as ArcGIS, Microstation, HydraCAD, Hydraflow, PondPack, StormCAD, Autodesk SSA, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and HY-8. The successful candidate will gain experience in the competitive consulting engineering industry and should be a strong team player committed to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team. The Garver Launch Program is an immersive, hands-on intern development program designed to elevate the summer experience. Interns will engage daily with fellow Garver Launch interns and industry professionals to build their network, participate in Garver's acclaimed wellness program, give back to the community through volunteer activities via Garver Gives, and enhance professional growth through tailored training and programs offered by Garver's Learning and Development team.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in drainage/stormwater engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the drainage engineering team.
