About The Position

Performs complex technical skilled work in inspecting public works construction projects, utility work performed in the public right-of-way and oversees contract inspectors working small projects. Provides plan review, construction quality assurance through physical inspection of construction site, and project coordination, as well as site development inspections for compliance. Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $41.59/hour or $86,507.20/annually.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • Five years of work experience in construction or inspection.
  • A minimum of two years' inspection experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date.
  • The Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires that out-of-state driver's licenses must be surrendered within 10 days of relocating to the State of Arizona.
  • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.

Nice To Haves

  • The American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade IA certification within six months of hire or promotion.
  • The International Slurry Seal Association (ISSA) certification or the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) certification or American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATTSA) certification is required within six months of hire date, or promotion.
