Transportation Engineering Intern - Infrastructure (Summer 2027)
About The Position
Learning begins in the classroom but there’s no better place to gain real-world experience than with Stantec. Interns are an integral part of our teams, working to solve some of the world's most complex challenges. As an intern, you’ll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success. As an Intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to transportation projects which may include highway and bridges and infrastructure, traffic planning and analysis, and/or airport infrastructure and development. Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken civil engineering, structural or transportation related courses. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to support a number of exciting local and national projects.
Requirements
- Candidates must be enrolled in at least their junior year toward earning a Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil or structural engineering or related field
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Computer literacy in AutoCAD, MicroStation, structural design software, word processing, Excel, and other standard office software is an asset
Responsibilities
- Assist engineers in the preparation of contract documents and reports for a variety of civil and structural engineering projects
- Responsibilities include computer aided design and drafting, checking drawings and calculations, quantity take-offs, simple structural calculations, and field inspection
