About The Position

Ardurra is seeking an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer to join our staff in our Tallahassee, FL office. Ardurra is a multidisciplinary civil engineering services firm which provides broad-based solutions tailored to the specific needs of the public and private sector. We leverage the depth of our professional and technical expertise, as well as our integrated structure, to deliver practical, innovative solutions for our clients. Ardurra’s Transportation team offers design capabilities ranging from complex multilevel interchanges to urban arterial reconstruction to complete streets for our clients. Our portfolio features a variety of signature projects, including the I-395 Signature Bridge reconstruction project in Downtown Miami. Each of our designs is customized, sustainable, and cost-effective for our clients, covering all project types, including Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build. Our clients have relied on our expertise in comprehensive planning, engineering design, and construction management to provide safe and efficient transportation solutions. This position has a target start date of June 2027. This position provides the opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation projects throughout Florida, including highway and roadway design, urban arterials, intersections, interchanges, and multimodal transportation improvements. You will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers supporting FDOT and other transportation clients while developing your technical skills and gaining hands-on experience throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Approximately 0–1 years of experience in engineering or related fields (internship experience preferred but not required)
  • Interest in highway, roadway, and transportation engineering and design

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other transportation design software is preferred
  • EIT certification (or ability to obtain within one year) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and design of highway, roadway, intersection, interchange, and other transportation improvement projects.
  • Support the development of roadway geometry, horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, cross sections, and typical sections.
  • Assist with preparation of roadway plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses in support of transportation design.
  • Assist with the preparation of plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
  • Support drainage, utility, signing and pavement marking, maintenance of traffic, and other disciplines associated with roadway projects.
  • Perform field investigations, data collection, site visits, and construction observations.
  • Support coordination and permitting efforts with FDOT, local municipalities, utility providers, and other agencies.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout project development.
  • Assist with construction-phase services, including review of submittals and responses to contractor questions.
  • Support project teams in delivering high-quality transportation projects for state and local clients.
