Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on transportation
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • Expectation of obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license within 12 months or already possessing a North Dakota PE license
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in transportation or civil engineering design and consulting
  • Proficiency in design software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and OpenRoads Designer
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Capacity to analyze and model traffic flow patterns
  • Capacity to develop innovative solutions for infrastructure challenges

Responsibilities

  • Planning, developing, and implementing a variety of transportation projects, including roadways, highways, bridges, airports, and transit systems
  • Developing transportation plans
  • Preparing construction documents
  • Analyzing traffic flow patterns for safety improvements
  • Coordinating with contractors and public agencies
  • Conducting site inspections to ensure design accuracy
  • Contributing to technical reports and proposals for clients
