About The Position

USI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Transportation Engineer to join its Roadway Design Team in Indiana. The role involves road design engineering duties and applying existing skills to practical project work. The engineer will perform transportation and geometric roadway design and support Local Public Agency and INDOT projects, working both independently and as part of a team. The role also includes communicating project status to the Road Design Team and clients, assisting with recruitment, and contributing to a positive company culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
• Indiana Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility to obtain it.
• Working knowledge of INDOT Design Manual standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Basic experience in programming, macros, or task automation.
• Strong sense of organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform transportation and geometric roadway design.
• Develop plans and present projects publicly.
• Write specifications and technical reports.
• Complete drainage calculations, quantity calculations, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate utilities and permitting.
• Work individually and as part of a team on Local Public Agency and INDOT projects.
• Communicate project status to the Road Design Team and clients.
• Assist in recruiting new talent and contribute to a positive company culture.
