About The Position

This position will be within the District 7 Capital Programs Department, specifically the in-house Roadway Engineering team at the District Headquarters in Sidney, OH. Working under the District Roadway Design Engineer, you will review plans as a subject matter expert for maintenance of traffic and traffic control. You will provide direction and comments to project managers, designers, and other project staff. You will perform site visits to collect information or troubleshoot issues. You will perform drafting/CADD as the program necessitates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors
  • 2 years of engineering-related experience
  • OR Valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 months experience as Transportation Engineer 1, 85641.
  • OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
  • Must show proof of valid driver's license OR must provide own transportation.

  • Sponsorship for an employment visa is not currently available for positions with the Ohio Department of Transportation.
