About The Position

The Transport driver shall be responsible for, but not limited to, driving a truck over an established route to deliver, unload, and account for products of the dairy industry to customer’s place of business and distribution points. This role involves recording transactions, preparing paperwork, and maintaining proper logs as required by the Company and D.O.T. The driver will also listen to and resolve service complaints. The successful candidate must keep the inside of the truck clean, perform routine maintenance on the truck, and work and drive safely, courteously, and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Must have a Class A driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen
  • Minimum of two years of transportation experience
  • Good driving record

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck over established route to deliver unloads and account for products of the dairy industry to customer’s place of business and distribution points.
  • Records transactions and prepares paperwork.
  • Maintains proper logs and other information as required by the Company and D.O.T.
  • Listens to and resolves service complaints.
  • Climbs, crawls, and walks in an upright as well as a bent position to load and unload product at destination.
  • Collects or picks up empty containers, rejected, or unsold merchandise.
  • Stacks and unstacks items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually.
  • Drags stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Loads and unloads truck and carries merchandise.
  • Works in very hot (100+ degrees) and very cool (less than 32 degrees) environments throughout the year.
  • Works outside in various conditions most of the time.
  • Keeps the inside of the truck clean.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the truck.
  • Works and drives safely, courteously, and in an efficient manner.
