About The Position

The Transportation Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting residents of The Center at Cordera to and from medical appointments, discharge locations, and approved activities. This role requires a compassionate individual committed to providing a secure and comfortable experience for our residents, many of whom may have mobility challenges.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of [X] years of professional driving experience (e.g., 2 years), preferably in a healthcare or passenger transport setting.
• Ability to operate wheelchair lifts/ramps and safely secure mobility devices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull residents and equipment as needed (specific weight listed if applicable, e.g., "up to 50 lbs").
• Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong sense of responsibility.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate facility vehicles (e.g., vans, wheelchair-accessible vehicles) safely and in accordance with all traffic laws and facility policies.
• Assist residents with boarding and de-boarding vehicles, including securing wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility aids.
• Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents during transport.
• Maintain accurate transportation logs, including mileage, destinations, and resident information.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure necessary supplies (e.g., first aid kit, emergency contact info) are on board.
• Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and facility staff regarding transportation schedules and any concerns.
• Adhere to all HIPAA and resident confidentiality guidelines.
