About The Position

The Transportation Dispatcher will be responsible for answering phone calls promptly while managing other office tasks as assigned. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, computer proficiency, and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate will have some transportation background and be a dependable team player willing to support their colleagues and adjust to changing responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in transportation dispatching preferred but not required.
• Basic US geography/interstate highway knowledge.
• Familiar with basic DOT regulations for Hours of Service
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Detail-oriented and dependable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer systems and dispatch software.
• Ability to work under pressure and adjust to a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch service requests.
• Perform additional office tasks as assigned to support daily operations.
• Communicate clear and accurate instructions to carriers, drivers or customers.
• Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, including customer interactions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth operational flow and customer satisfaction.
• Utilize dispatch software and communication systems to track personnel and asset status.
• Adapt to changing schedules and priorities as needed.
