Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 4 years of experience required
  • 3 years of experience required with advanced degree
  • PE required
  • Driving is an essential job function or a valid driver’s license is required to support legitimate business purposes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Developing proficiency with Market Sector Software (AutoCAD C3D)
  • Developing proficiency with Market Sector Software (Microstation Connect and OpenRoads) (if applicable)
  • Basic proficiency with 3D design and visualizations (e.g., Revit, Infraworks) (if applicable)
  • Familiarity with Task Specific software (e.g., AutoTurn, GuideSign)
  • Intermediate understanding of technical fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Advanced understanding of AASHTO and FHWA design codes.
  • Advanced understanding of Local Client design codes.

Responsibilities

  • Performing moderate to advanced levels of engineering calculations, alternatives analysis, design and drafting for a variety of transportation projects including sidewalks, bike paths, local roadways, intersections, highways, freeways, and other transportation facilities.
  • Site visits, CAD mark-ups and drafting, geometric roadway layout and design, performing 3D corridor modeling, writing project specifications and technical reports, calculating construction quantities, estimating construction costs, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and preparing project correspondence.
  • Exercise a strong work ethic, desire to learn new design concepts, and have great organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with design and drafting fundamentals in at least one software platform.
  • Quickly learn and apply new 2D and 3D design concepts quickly with limited oversight.
  • Mentor others with less experience.
  • Work well with others, absorb and apply constructive criticism and seek guidance from more experienced members of the team as necessary.
