About The Position
Join SSFM’s Civil Transportation Team to help deliver innovative, community-centered infrastructure across the islands. The Civil Design Engineer supports complete streets, roadway, and transportation projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role includes design, development and coordination of project documents, collaboration with project teams and the Traffic Group, client communication, contract administration support, and project-site visits as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- 3–4 years of civil engineering experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a deadline-driven mindset.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Ability to uphold strict ethical standards and pass reference, background, and motor vehicle checks.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Civil 3D.
- Transportation or roadway design background.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Responsibilities
- Support Civil 3D and AutoCAD design for complete streets, roadway, and transportation projects.
- Review, develop, and coordinate detailed plan sets, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project teams and the Traffic Group to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Attend client meetings, communicate technical solutions, and support contract administration.
- Visit project sites as needed to monitor progress and serve as an on-site representative.
