About The Position

Interwest Consulting Group is expanding its civil engineering design group to meet increasing demand. The goal is to double design capacity, seeking talented and ambitious engineers to join the team and capitalize on growth opportunities. The role involves joining a team of experienced designers who support professional development and benefit from unique skills. The design team focuses on civil infrastructure design for roadway and public park improvements. This includes planimetric layout, grading and drainage design, storm water management (treatment and detention/retention), wet utility collection and distribution systems (storm, sewer, water), coordination of utility layout with dry utilities, coordination of design with the entire consultant team (geotechnical engineers, traffic engineers, landscape architects, lighting and electrical engineers, etc.), and coordination with clients and public agencies to develop designs meeting the needs of diverse stakeholders. Engineers with experience in design, plan production, and preparation of specifications, cost estimates, and supporting calculations are sought. This is a HYBRID role with a mixture of REMOTE work and in-office teamwork.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience performing civil infrastructure design elements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required
  • Possession of a valid Class “C” California driver’s license is required
  • Solid computer skills and experience using PDF and MS Office programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exercise initiative and display independent judgment
  • Be self-directed and self-motivated
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Civil infrastructure design for roadway and public park improvements
