JMT is recognized as #45 on Engineering News-Record’s list of the Top 500 Design Firms. JMT is currently seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals to join its Central PA Team. The primary clients served are the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and other Local Government agencies within the Central PA Region. The selected candidate will serve as a principal inspector, overseeing construction inspection engineering work on projects.

Requirements

  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Client-requested certifications, including: NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction, NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician, ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician.
  • Active driver's license.
  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance with plans, contract documents, specifications, and standards.
  • Assign, schedule, and manage subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases.
  • Review and maintain all pertinent project documentation, ensuring accurate detailing of construction progress, activities, and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permitting conditions and safety policies and programs.
  • Monitor EEO and DBE progress and performance.
  • Prepare, review, and submit project inspection reports, work authorizations, work orders, and estimates.
  • Notify contractors of non-compliance and required corrective actions.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate contractor schedules.
  • Track project progress and advise parties of potential overruns and critical project issues.
  • Complete analysis of field tests.
  • Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, and management-level meetings.
  • Assist the client with change orders and claim defense.
  • Provide clients with updates on construction progress and issues.
  • Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to address inquiries.
  • Act on behalf of the client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction-related field issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
