Transportation Construction Inspector
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals to join their Central PA Team. The primary clients for this role are the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and other Local Government agencies throughout the Central PA Region. The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.
Requirements
- Apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
- Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
- Gather and maintain record documents.
- Make field notes and computations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
