About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is a 100% employee-owned consulting firm with over 2,800 professionals, offering multidisciplinary engineering, architecture, information technology, and related services. JMT's Fort Washington Construction Management team is looking for a qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector for highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects in the Southeastern Pennsylvania region. The role involves applying standard inspection procedures to ensure construction activities meet structural quality, general safety, and conform to plans, specifications, and codes for clients such as PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and other local agencies. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g., H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

  • Qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector
  • Ability to apply standard inspection procedures to construction activities
  • Knowledge of structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes
  • Ability to review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods
  • Ability to measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement
  • Ability to make field notes and computations
  • Ability to gather, review and maintain project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems)
  • Ability to witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials

Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned
