About The Position

Ulteig is seeking a Transportation BIM Manager to lead digital design, project delivery, and operational excellence within the Civil Transportation department. This position oversees Ulteig’s Bentley Civil ecosystem, managing standards, workspaces, processes, and training to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant project execution. The Transportation BIM Manager plays a key role in Ulteig’s Digital Delivery strategy by collaborating with the Digital Delivery & ProjectWise Manager to align workflows, integrate with ProjectWise, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (BIC), and other Bentley platforms, and promote DOT-aligned best practices. The role works with project teams, IT, and cross-functional leaders to standardize digital design workflows, support data continuity, and deliver high-quality, data-driven project outcomes across all offices.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Associate degree in drafting, architectural/engineering design, or related field required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years using MicroStation and Bentley Civil platforms (OpenRoads, OpenBridge, etc.) on large, complex projects.
  • 5+ years in a CAD/BIM leadership role, including process and standards development.
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Strong teaching, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and resolve issues across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong follow-through and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Inclusive, collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and engage staff.
  • Strong presentation and client-service orientation skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, innovative setting.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Manage configuration, customization, and version control for Bentley platforms, including MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Designer, ConceptStation, ProjectWise, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (BIC), iTwin/iModel services, and related tools.
  • Work with ProjectWise Administrators to manage workspaces, file structures, automations, and digital delivery tools supporting Transportation Engineering teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve CADD/BIM workspaces to meet DOT, municipal, and national digital delivery standards.
  • Integrate supporting software to facilitate project delivery across disciplines and offices.
  • Assess emerging digital delivery technologies and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and project outcomes.
  • Support and promote iTwin/iModel workflows for validation, visualization, versioning, and digital twin initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive, audit-ready documentation for configurations, release notes, and change impacts.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and primary escalation point for complex Bentley software issues.
  • Oversee all design documentation and technology standards by developing, implementing, enforcing, and managing change control processes.
  • Create and maintain templates, catalogs, tools, macros, configuration files, and SOPs to ensure consistent adoption across all offices and project teams.
  • Apply and verify DOT and municipal requirements across configurations and deliverables, and participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with models and documentation.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC teams, technical leads, and internal committees to promote best practices, establish guidelines, and support continuous improvement in digital delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of future technology and workflow strategies that align with corporate objectives.
  • Design, lead, and deliver training programs—including onboarding, workshops, office hours, continuing education, and playbooks — focused on MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, ProjectWise, BIC/iTwin tools, and digital delivery best practices.
  • Develop training materials, documentation, and job aids to support firmwide adoption.
  • Mentor and coach users at all experience levels; provide practical guidance and promote consistent, high-quality usage across teams.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, conferences, and seminars to enhance in-house training and digital delivery workflows.
  • Partner with project managers and design leads to support project setup, including file structures, names, attributes, workflows, states, and rendition configurations.
  • Assist with applying and verifying DOT/municipal standards on active projects.
  • Support project teams with design, drafting, and coordination questions; help troubleshoot and resolve complex digital workflow issues.
  • Attend project check-ins as needed to ensure standards alignment and support milestone deliverables.
  • Act as a liaison between project teams, IT, and software vendors to resolve issues and remove blockers.
