About The Position

This position is responsible for communicating and arranging transportation orders generated by the Court clerks for individuals being housed at the Chesterfield County Jail. The role involves generating paperwork specific to duty assignments and personnel rosters, communicating with personnel about transports, researching security risks, assisting with setting up video pre-trials for other jurisdictions, discussing with the Transportation Supervisor/Sergeant to assign transports, compiling daily and monthly statistics, and arranging transportation for medical appointments. The position also includes performing other administrative support tasks such as data entry, compiling reports, filing, and answering phones. This role is located in a secured jail environment and requires working in close proximity to individuals housed at the Chesterfield County Jail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of experience in customer service or administrative support work in a public transit environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Current valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or a major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months.
  • Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check (to include polygraph examination), and education/degree verification required.
  • This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check.
  • Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.
  • This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
  • The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited.
