About The Position

The Transportation Assistant Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the stable, on‑time, and interruption‑free flow of inbound parts to the HMGMA production line. This position supports and oversees the door‑to‑door local inbound transportation operation, including delivery scheduling, carrier performance management, risk mitigation, and on‑site operational control. We are seeking a highly driven professional with strong analytical capability, operational discipline, and the ability to thrive in a high‑volume, fast‑paced automotive manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates proactive problem‑solving, clear communication, and a deep understanding of transportation operations.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience in transportation, logistics, inbound supply
  • Strong understanding of production planning, delivery control, and inbound logistics operations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage carriers, dispatch operations, and on‑site transportation activities
  • Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and crisis‑response capabilities
  • Proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in a high‑volume, time‑sensitive manufacturing environment
  • English proficiency for communication with suppliers and logistics partners

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with warehouse operations or Tier‑1 automotive (or similar) inbound logistics
  • Knowledge of MES, TMS, WMS, or other logistics/transportation systems
  • Experience managing 3PL partners and evaluating performance

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor daily/weekly delivery schedules aligned with production requirements
  • Supervise dock, yard, system monitoring, and driver attendance to ensure seamless operational flow
  • Oversee dispatch planning, route optimization, and KPI‑driven carrier performance
  • Identify operational risks, respond to delays or shortages, and implement immediate corrective actions
  • Coordinate with production, quality, procurement, and suppliers to resolve issues and maintain delivery stability
  • Prepare transportation capacity, resources, and processes to support production ramp‑ups and new model launches
  • Document incidents, analyze root causes, and drive sustainable corrective actions
