About The Position

NV5 is seeking a Transportation Assistant Engineer for its Alpharetta, GA office. This role will provide engineering design, calculations, CAD support, and project assistance for the Transportation Design group. The ideal candidate will support design efforts and be capable of completing assigned projects on time and within budget. The position involves completing roadway design plans under the direct supervision of a professional engineer, working both independently and in small groups, and utilizing MicroStation and Inroads/Openroads software. The assistant engineer will also help engineers and designers in developing and producing engineering plans and specifications for various transportation projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with familiarity with Microsoft Products like Excel and Outlook, are essential.

Requirements

BS in Civil Engineering
0-3 years of previous roadway design or other transportation engineering experience
EIT Certification required
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Products such as Excel and Outlook
Must be willing to travel on occasion
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment is preferred

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Microstation and Inroads/Openroads software a plus
