Transportation Aide - CNA

About The Position
The Transportation Aide – CNA safely transports residents to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and scheduled activities while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the trip. The role includes observing and promptly reporting changes in residents’ conditions, assisting with ambulation and transfers using assistive devices and proper techniques, and recording vital signs when needed. When not transporting residents, the aide assists with CNA duties in the facility.
Requirements
- Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Be at least 25 years old for insurance requirements.
- Hold a current Nursing Assistant Certification in Texas.
- Pass the DMV check and qualify for company insurance.
- Complete the Employee Driver Proficiency program.
- Demonstrate strong communication, patience, and attention to detail.
- Be comfortable with caregiving and safe vehicle operation.
Responsibilities
- Drive residents to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and scheduled activities.
- Monitor residents’ safety and comfort during transportation.
- Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns.
- Assist residents with ambulation and transfers using assistive devices and proper techniques.
- Record vital signs when needed during transportation.
- Assist with CNA duties in the facility when not transporting residents.
