About The Position

Responsible for facilitating the safe and efficient transportation of patients, medical equipment, supplies, and specimens within the healthcare facility. The role coordinates transportation logistics, ensures timely and accurate delivery, and maintains professionalism and customer service. Patient care is not required for this position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from various issuers preferred.
Experience in transportation, preferably in a healthcare or customer service environment; 1–2 years preferred.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to follow directions, work independently, and demonstrate sound judgment.
Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols, particularly for patient transport and handling medical equipment.
Basic computer skills for record-keeping and documentation.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of transportation experience, preferably in healthcare or customer service.

Responsibilities

Safely transport patients from their rooms to departments such as radiology, surgery, and physical therapy.
Assist patients with boarding and disembarking from transportation vehicles, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Transport medical equipment, supplies, and specimens between departments and storage areas.
Handle and care for delicate and sensitive equipment appropriately.
Follow infection control and safety protocols while handling and transporting materials.
Coordinate transportation requests and schedules to provide prompt, efficient service.
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to prioritize transportation needs and accommodate urgent requests.
